To the point; these things rule! Man, I am telling you, I put these suckers on my new craftsman 24 hp YT (yard tractor), and not that it didn't barrel through everything before, but now it don't stop! This is good and bad.
I read another's review about chains, they said they were going to get the tire weights and the chains, but then decided to pick up the chains alone. So I did the same thing. May not need the weights, or I can rig a bar and stick a 35 lb plate on it, or sit on one. I know this isn't a review for my tractor but let me tell you that I drive that thing into grass, weeds, small trees and bushes, and thick stuff, some 5 feet high with no hesitation. I was occasionally getting caught in a hidden burrow or on stalks of the bigger flowering bushes and spin a little here and there. if I got hung up I would reverse and put in 2nd or 3rd gear' or 6th if I wanted to literally fly over it. With the chains, I just push right through, grip and rip right through in 1st gear. these chains DIG me into the ground, lmao, when teetering on a slight incline, and the dirt flies! Lean over that tire, it grabs and you are back. These chains turned that monster (I like it) craftsman into a beast!
The only caveat; they will keep you moving, so stay alert! I hit a stump, small rotten, was able to kick it out of the ground with a few kicks but the tractor hit it, and before I could stop the blade, they stopped themselves. I bent that one blade a good 40 degrees! Could not believe it, and I was in 1st gear. So be aware, the chains may give you more traction than you realize; some slippage may be a good thing once in a while.
Putting them on was pretty cut and dry, although the second tire started to make me work so I just let air out and then put them on and refilled. Couple zip ties or over size trash bag wire ties for the excess links and you are set! Put a bumper on your tractor!

I bought them for my 20 HP lawnmower. The last time I paid $94, but those chains were heavier and easier to put on. The area that I mow is steep and rough, about five acres. Chains give the needed traction and are a necessary safety item. With chains, I can mow even when its wet – saves the turf from spins.
These chains were a little frustrating to put on. Where the cross links connect to the main chain, they sort of bind and sort of kink, but I got them on in about 25 minutes. Chains are always pain to put on especially if you haven’t done it before; but you get them on. These had no instructions.
Because they are lighter (the wire the chains are made out of is smaller) they do not dig as deep and, on rare occasions, they have slipped, but just a bit, as compared the heavier $94 chains on my other lawnmower. I doubt they will ever break or wear out.
Once I got they kinks straightened, out they were an excellent fit for my 20x8x8 tires. So I’m pleased.

They do not fit 20x8x10 tractor tires. I cuoldn't even get the side chains hooked. They are about 6" and 1-cross chain too short. When laid on the tire the side chains sit real high up near the tread. They would sit much better on a 20x8x8 tire. Aside from not fitting, the quality seems decent considering the fairly low price.
